Artist's Bio

Beverly Garland has a long history as a cat lover and an artist. In 2019, she found a way to combine the two with her award-winning “I Love To Draw Cats” YouTube channel and fine art cat portraits. While she doesn’t hold a degree in Art, she is a veteran of the computer game industry, starting out as an animator and winding up as a producer due to a repetitive stress injury.  Her past work with cats includes volunteering with cheetahs in Namibia, teaching Trap/Neuter/Return classes in Austin, TX, and writing a thesis on feral cats for her Master's degree at the University of Texas at Austin.​ Beverly lives with her husband and four cats in a school bus converted into a motorhome. They also own a second bus, which they converted into an art studio/home office. When they were traveling extensively, portraits were the perfect business for bus life. Now that they've settled in Texas, one of their favorite rituals is taking the cats for a nightly walk around their rural property.
